  Gerz Annual Limität Beer Stein Series

Gerz Limität Series is a collection of unique reproductions of 17th century traditional stoneware that was produced in the Westerwald region. The series consisted of 26 steins that where produced from 1974 till the company Gerz closed down in 1999. They offer the collector the excellent opportunity of obtaining  copies of rare Kannenbäcker beer steins.

Gerz 1980 Limitaet Beer Stein, 0,75 Liter, this is a replica of a Westerwald stein made in 1762. The motif features double rows of “pearls” surrounding what appear to be abstract floral designs. Interlaced “vines” circle the top and bottom of the stein, which also shows a typical Westerwald blue dot pattern , subject to prior sale.

Gerz 1989 Limitaet Beer Stein, 1 Liter, this stein was reproduced from a Westerwald stein made around 1700. The main decoration comes from a copper plate print made by a Nürnberg artist named Theodore Bang. The tendril theme includes hunters, dogs and unicorns, framed by a relief band. At the top and bottom of the stein are two more relief bands made up of diamonds and hearts. The shape of the lid is typical of that period, subject to prior sale.
